Are you guys still alive? How did you go at PBS?
Unfortunately we haven’t heard back from them. I emailed them a few weeks ago asking if they could contact us if they got our application but got no reply. I’ll try emailing again soon, but I don’t think it’s looking good…
Maybe it’s time to do a podcast. Don’t let it go to waste. Your show is the most original, interesting and unusual radio show I have heard for a long time, if ever. Even on PBS and RRR you don’t often hear much out of the ordinary these days. The audience for your show on community radio might not be huge , but don’t under estimate it. For every annoying fuckwit like me, there are probably 10 fuckwits at home that love your show and don’t annoy you at all. And if you do a podcast, just think how many fuckwits there are world wide! So keep trying.
Love your work

Thanks again for the kind words. I talked to George after getting this message and I think we decided that at the moment the possibility of doing a podcast is not as alluring as live radio. We like the feeling of being without a net and spontaneous as well as putting out shows that are one offs and not recorded.
So for the moment we’re going to try to do some graveyard shifts on SYN, PBS and RRR (whoever will have us) and notify people through this website.
I’m not as opposed to doing a podcast, but I wouldn’t want to do it without George – though he hasn’t ruled anything out either.
I think in the coming weeks we might try to record a podcast and see how it turns out, but one of the biggest appeals has been getting live feedback and messages from listeners (as few as we may have gotten). Relating to the audience in such a direct way is something I don’t think we could replicate with podcasts.
But as I said, we haven’t ruled anything out and I’ll see what I can rope George into over the coming weeks.
Maybe you could do a live stream broadcast through your website and set up a message board on it to replace the texts, then release it as a podcast, with adds to say when the show is on live. People could then listen to the podcast, learn when it’s on and slowly you build your live audience.
